Habana small flower earrings

Vereda Tropical was born from a very particular image: being in Havana with the Los Panchos song playing in the background. That state where you haven't a care in the world and are simply enjoying the moment.

The collection comes in three shades. The first to come to Maite was fuchsia pink blended with orange, with a shine. Then came matte gold and a pearlescent finish with touches of mauve.

The pearlescent finish was the new element: it is the first time the workshop has truly committed to it, because the collection was missing a special kind of shine, the shine of a magical moment.

The pearlescent finish is not applied in a single pass. First come several layers that have to dry, and the pearlescent one goes on last. It has to be present but not obvious: overdo it, and all the delicacy of the piece is lost.

The two enamelled colours of Habana also carry many layers of detail. It is one of the most time-consuming series, and also the one that opened the door to almost every detailing technique the workshop uses today: from this piece onwards.

They are made on Calle Alameda, in the Barrio de las Letras, in a workshop you are welcome to visit. If you come by, you will probably see the next pair being worked on.

They are small and made for every day, and they work just as well with your hair down as up. If you are after the same flower with more presence, the series also includes the large flower earrings and the climbing earrings, as well as the necklace and the choker.

The lacquer protects the plating and the enamel from contact with skin and perfume. Keep them dry and stored separately, and avoid putting on scent while you are wearing them. With normal wear and this care, the gold plating will last for years.
