Long Leaf earrings

Leaf belongs to the Silence collection, and it grows out of a need for silence in a world, or a moment, full of noise. A need to stop and pay attention to the small things.

That is why the leaves in this series are so small. These earrings hold a whole set of branches and leaves, but told in a very simple way.

The series combines the organic with the linear. These are not ordinary branches: they are very symmetrical. Maite did not want them to intertwine or tangle, quite the opposite. Each branch goes its own way and the leaves stay apart, and that is where the feeling of lightness comes from.

Each earring has two branches, one shorter and one longer, with six leaves in all, placed symmetrically so they never cross. They then receive their 24-carat gold plating in a matte finish; in the white version, the enamel is painted on by hand.

They are made on Calle Alameda, in the Barrio de las Letras, in a workshop you are welcome to visit. If you come by, you will probably see the next pair being made.

They are 8 cm long, but once you put them on they don't feel big or tangled: they feel light, and they are, even with two branches and six leaves. They look lovely with your hair up and with simple necklines. The same leaf appears on the Leaf necklaces, hoop and mini earrings, rings, bangle and brooch.

The lacquer protects the plating from contact with skin and perfume. Keep them dry and stored separately, and avoid putting on scent while wearing them. With normal wear and this care, the gold plating lasts for years.
