Leaf hoop earrings

Leaf belongs to the Silence collection, and it grows out of a need for silence in a world, or a moment, full of noise. A need to stop and pay attention to the small things.

That is why the leaves in this series are so tiny and the whole design is so simple. It combines the organic with the linear: these are not ordinary branches, but very symmetrical ones. Maite did not want them to intertwine or tangle; each branch goes its own way and the leaves stay apart, and that is where the feeling of lightness comes from.

In these earrings, the branches and tiny leaves form a hoop.

The branches and leaves are worked by hand, and they then receive their 24-carat gold plating in a matte finish; in the white version, the enamel is painted on by hand.

They are made on Calle Alameda, in the Barrio de las Letras, in a workshop you are welcome to visit. If you come by, you will probably see the next pair being made.

Four centimetres across and four grams: these are everyday hoops, barely noticeable and lovely with your hair down or up. The same leaf appears on the Leaf necklaces, long and mini earrings, rings, bangle and brooch.

The lacquer protects the plating from contact with skin and perfume. Keep them dry and stored separately, and avoid putting on scent while wearing them. With normal wear and this care, the gold plating lasts for years.
