The story of the piece
Eme was born from watching Míkel, Maite's youngest son. From the way he plays freely: inventing sounds for every toy, bringing every object to life, testing how it tastes, how it feels, how it sounds when it hits the floor.
To Maite it is pure magic that almost everything he will ever know comes from those experiments. That is Eme: free play, pure enjoyment.
MIK carries his name. These earrings are a line that falls, curves and sharpens, like a stroke drawn without thinking, just for the pleasure of it. Nine centimetres that move with you.
How they are made
Each earring is cut out and curved by hand until the line has just the right tension. Then it is sanded and polished to a shine.
It receives the white bronze plating, the 24-carat gold plating and a final hypoallergenic coating.
They are made on Calle Alameda, in the Barrio de las Letras, in a workshop you can visit.
How to wear it
They are long, 9 cm, but they look very light: a line, not an ornament. They work with your hair down or up, day or night.
If you like the series, the long necklace and the MIK rings follow the same line.
Care
The hypoallergenic coating protects the pieces from contact with skin and perfume. Keep them dry and on their own, and avoid putting on perfume while wearing them. With normal use and this care, the gold plating lasts for years.
