Medium Leaf necklace

Leaf belongs to the Silence collection, and it grows out of a need for silence in a world, or a moment, full of noise. A need to stop and pay attention to the small things.

That is why the leaves in this series are so tiny and the whole design is so simple: fine lines, little branches and leaves, with nothing extra.

Maite always pictured this necklace the same way: the little branch as a continuation of the chain itself, with the leaves growing out of it.

The branch is a 1.5 mm wire, shaped like a twig, from which the leaves grow. The piece then receives its 24-carat gold plating in a matte finish; in the white version, the enamel is painted on by hand.

It is made on Calle Alameda, in the Barrio de las Letras, in a workshop you are welcome to visit. If you come by, you will probably see the next one being made.

It is the middle size of the series. The small necklace was too short and the large one is more expansive: this one sits between the two. It is perfect with a very simple T-shirt or with the neckline of a shirt, and it always adds that touch of light from the matte gold, in a single line.

The lacquer protects the plating from contact with skin and perfume. Keep it dry and stored separately, and avoid putting on scent while wearing it. With normal wear and this care, the gold plating lasts for years.
