GDPR compliance and data protection

At Ginger and Velvet we process your personal data solely to manage your orders, look after you as a customer and, if you have given us permission, send you news about the brand. You will find the full detail in our Privacy policy.

Your rights

The General Data Protection Regulation gives you the following rights over the information we hold about you:

  • Access. To know what data of yours we hold and what we use it for.
  • Rectification. To correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erasure. To ask us to delete it, within the limits the law sets: invoices, for instance, we are required to keep for tax purposes.
  • Portability. To receive your data in a readable format so you can take it elsewhere.
  • Restriction and objection. To ask us to stop processing it or to limit how we use it.
  • Withdrawal of consent. At any time and without giving reasons, without affecting anything done beforehand.

How to exercise them

Write to us at info@gingervelvet.com with Data protection in the subject line and, in the message, the right you wish to exercise and the email address you ordered with, so that we can find you.

We will reply within a maximum of one month of receiving your request. If the request is particularly complex, the law allows us to extend that period by a further two months, and in that case we would tell you within the first month and explain why. If we cannot identify you with certainty, we may ask for additional details before releasing any personal information.

There is no charge for handling these requests.

Your account details

If you have an account with the shop, you can view and correct your name, addresses and contact details yourself from your account.

The first time you visit the site we ask whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. You can change that decision whenever you like:

Complaints

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es), the supervisory authority in Spain.
